    • 2.5 starsThe title is misleading There is a truck, yes, a 1966 Ford pickup in cherry red, all gleaming paint and chrome The truck is important because it belonged to Garrison s older brother, Brandon, who was killed in action The driving theme, however, is clumsily handled and not central to the story Garrison loses his shit at Brandon s funeral He fucks his brother in law Brandon s wife s brother Walt through the mattress, then takes off recklessly in his dead brother s truck Way to honor your [...]

    • Oh, no No no no I need time to sort this before I put it into words but, NO Did not work At All Started fine, but just fell apart at 50%.More details later, but NO.Feb 3, 2015 Please assume mild spoilers OK, here is what just didn t work for meMC Garrison Navy SEAL, brother of Brandon, who just died in Afghanistan comes home for his brother s funeral and meets Walt Brandon s wife s brother and the local Sheriff and the two hit it off and have a week long series of comfort fucks Hey, I m all abou [...]

    • It wasn t The Thatcher Brothers, but still worth reading Drive Your Truck was an enjoyable read by an author who created one of my favorite series, The Thatcher Brothers, Jed Ross are two of the sexiest, funniest, hard lovin rednecks ever and their men, well they need to be pretty special in their own right to hold their own and handle these brothers I went into this wanting basically of the same Strong alpha men who were willing to do what it took to get what they wanted Part way into the stor [...]

    • This story was kind of disappointing It had everything that could have made a good story a grieving, returning soldier, sexy as hell, involved with a small town, closeted sheriff with the usual problems created by hiding a relationship And yet, it didn t The story was sexy, but it was soulless to the point that I couldn t feel the chemistry between Garrison and Walt Yes, I could see them as pals jerking off or having sex, but the true emotional connection wasn t there I think it had to do with g [...]

    • For me one who s read this genre for awhile now the story is pretty much a standard read, in terms of what it offers and the way I enjoyed it It is a straightforward romance with two men in uniform and one of them was in the closet complete with the almost clich hospital scene.Garrison and Walt meet for the first time when Garrison comes home for his brother s funeral Walt is the older brother of Garrison s brother s wife They connect quite soon and Garrison finds consolation in Walt Later on, w [...]

    • Garrison Matthews and Walt DrummonSet in Coloradoreview Scattered Thoughts And Rogue WordsDrive Your Truck is pretty simple story, not too angsty but unfortunately to me not sweet at all Reading the blurb, I liked the premises of it, so I was enthusiastic when I started reading it Sadly some things didn t work for me.Gar and Walt hooking up on the wake for Gar s brother was the first thing I didn t like in this book I d be so pained to losing my brother, I honestly couldn t think about sex I did [...]

    • 3.5This was kind of short and sweet Things moved fast but I liked these men together and I thought they had good chemistry together The sex scenes were hot but I actually liked the quiet moments the best where the two of them were roommates and just getting to know each other past the physical attraction. This was a pretty simple story about a family dealing with lose and grief in their own ways I really liked how it ended and I liked how Walt dealt with his desire to be with Garrison There s def [...]

    • It started of all twisted, wild sex after a funeral kinky than slowly trickled like a minute drop of water edging across a desert seeking a raging river. The heat in this book evaporated quicker than that droplet. An ex navy seal a cop should have been incendiary together instead they wanted to play safe houses. The book had a promise that just failed to deliver.

    • Meh I hate the frat boy speak It grates my nerves when every other sentence ends with man Then to have BOTH MC s doing it No thanks.Too much hot and cold with this to enjoy, man.

    • Review can be read at It s About The BookGarrison Matthews is home on leave to attend his brother Brandon s funeral Brandon was killed over in Afghanistan and left behind a pregnant wife A woman Garrison had never met before Being a Navy SEAL, Garrison hasn t been able to see much of his family and losing his brother is something he cannot even begin to comprehend He feels like it should have been him to go Not his brother who is leaving behind a family Back at the house, he meets Walt Drummond, [...]

    • 3.5 starsThis story was a bit predictable after Walt and Garrison s initial meeting, but still decent I thought the initial meeting was a bit rushed and crass I understand immediate attraction but jumping right in to sex after meeting at a funeral didn t sit right with me Even waiting until the next day would have been a bit better The writing didn t feel like a typical romance story didn t have as much of the sweet and sappy stuff that most romance stories have these days, which is ok since the [...]

    • 3 star review by AmberThis blurb shouted my name so loud, I just couldn t ignore it This book had all the things I love military, police officers, and most importantly Special Forces Military novels will always be my thing but when Special Forces are added in it really makes a book that much special I did enjoy Garrison and Walt terrible name for a leading man together however, this book lacked any kind of emotional connection I missed that but overall this book was enjoyable.Garrison Matthews [...]

    • Garrison meets Walt at Garrison s brother s funeral Walt is Garrison s brother s wife s brother Phew Got that Basically they are sorta, kinda, in laws ish.Garrison is still a SEAL but he s out Walt is a cop, and he s NOT.At first they hook up and it s nothing but letting off steam But as time moves on, they become closer and closer Garrison gets out of the military, injured, and Walt lends him a hand his guest room But when things start to look too suspicious to the locals, Walt essentially kick [...]

    • A Joyfully Jay review 4.25 starsI found that the beginning of Garrison and Walt s relationship was less than warm and fuzzy, I mean hooking up with your sister in law s brother at your brother s wake, let s just say e Okay, maybe I m being narrow minded, they say sex can be life affirming and that sure seemed to be the case with Garrison and Walt Talbot did a pretty good job fleshing out not only our heroes, both also the key secondary characters like Kylie The conflict was understated and felt [...]

    • 1.5 stars. The book blurb sounded great and the idea behind the book was solid but, unfortunately, the execution missed the mark by a country mile This book really just did not work for me The MCs, Garrison and Walter, had absolutely zero chemistry Most of their interactions seemed disjointed and out of step, like MCs in two different books out of step Every time a conflict was forcibly fabricated would arise, I kept paging back in the story trying to figure out what triggered it all Garrison kep [...]

    • Not super impressive A lot of missed opportunities for character development, not to mention confusing hot and cold reactions from both MC s who seem to like dislike like each other all over the map It got confusing because it felt like Walt was saying, Let s take it slow while he actually meant, Don t touch me, I m closeted and you re a slut Garrison was all, I really like Walt , but when push came to shove, he just left without telling him and figured, Fuck the emotionally repressed closet cas [...]

    • Original review on Molly LollyFour stars This was an interesting story Walt and Garrison were an unlikely match in the beginning but they definitely grew on each other I wasn t sure if they were going to make it since they both had some baggage to deal with But Walt had his wake up call and finally did the right thing I love that both of their families were supportive and didn t try to get them to act straight Kylie was so heartbreaking but she was an amazing ally for both Walt and Garrison The [...]

    • This wasn t the greatest thing but I didn t think it was bad In the first chapter I could already feel a different tone I think it felt realistic A bit gritty Garrison is in pain over his brother s death He feels disconnected from his surroundings and is basically walking through a fog when he meets Walt and they experience an almost instant attraction Getting food away from the wake ends up with a fuck through the mattress where Walt surprises himself by bending in ways he normally would not Th [...]

    • Fairly enjoyable read I didn t get all squishy inside or anything but it didn t suck Except for the use of the word man I f ing HATE that Suck my dick, man Just suck my dick works fine, the added man doesn t do anything except make them sound stoned The truck didn t really play a vital role like I thought it would either There were a whole lot of missed opportunities here.

    • The beginning was very depressing, so for a while I didn t get very far with the book Once I got through that, things settled down Walt was sending some super mixed messages I liked Garrison He and Walt managed to talk things over relatively well.
