    • A holiday collection of 10 novellas by 10 talented authors While I didn t get to read all ten, I did ready several of the collection As a fan of Larissa Reinhart, I had to read her novella, A View to a Chill A combination of two of her series, the Cherry Tucker Mysteries and Maize Albright Mysteries, this was hilarious but filled with many twists and turns If you ever watched Moonlighting and I Love Lucy on television imagine them combined into one story Once I began reading the first section in [...]

    • A few of these were good, a few were bad, and there were a LOT of typos Overall, it was a 99 cent donation for a dozen stories I ll live.

    • I have only read two of these stories so far, but I look forward to reading the others THE CASE OF THE CURIOUS BISCUITBy Nell Goddin This was an interesting story, but the whole time I was reading it, I felt I was missing something I have never read any of this author s books before, but it turns out the character of Molly has her own series, of which this is part of After reading this novella, I am sure I would love to read the rest of the series In this story, Molly, who lives in France, gets [...]

    • This is a great collection of Cozy mysteries that center on the busy holiday season I enjoyed the books in this collection very much, but my two favorites were from Summer Prescott and Larissa Reinhart. In Home For the Holidays by Summer Prescott readers are treated to a stand alone story that pulls at heartstrings, and will have you believing in miracles The story quickly pulled me in and kept me turning the pages I look forward to reading from this talented author.A View to a Chill by Larissa [...]

    • Ok I m not going to write reviews for the individual stories in this collection except to say that most were quite readable and enjoyable Christmas reads and, of course, I liked some than others and I did skip one cause I m not a big fan of supernatural fantasy I did find a few authors who are new to me and whose other works I ll probably check out and I was quite surprised that many of these stories are actually novel length and not short stories or novellas. My biggest problem with this book i [...]

    • I had high expectations for The 12 Slays of Christmas and they were well met I started with two of m y favorite authors, Colleen Helme and Larissa Reinhart Had I read nothing else in the book, I would have been thrilled with the collection, but of course, I DID read the toher books and I can honestly say that it was 12 for 12 in reading satisfaction I would rate the books between four stars and five with leaning towards fives, but I loved even the four star books Most of the books would fall in [...]

    • 10 GREAT COZY MYSTERIES TO EXCITE THE INNER SLEUTH I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED ALL THE STORIES AND LAUGHED OUT LOUD THROUGH SOME GET YOUR INNER DETECTIVE TO WORK THIS SEASON AND SOLVE THE MYSTERIES BEFORE THE AUTHORS DO I GIVE THIS COLLECTION TEN SHINING STARS.

    • Having read all 12 of the books, I settled on giving this set 4 stars A few of the books fell short, but overall I loved the collection and found a few new authors to add to my list The set started off with a couple of books that I felt were a bit weak and had editing errors than I would have liked, so I hesitated to continue But, I m glad I did The overall formatting of the set was a bit distracting, also, with often no break between chapters, or large blank gaps within a chapter On my Nook, s [...]

    • Not sure why I couldn t finish any of these stories The theme was Christmas and I love the holidays Quite a few of them dealt with food and old ladies with pets I m a petting owning old lady who loves good food It must have something to do with the novella format not punchy and tightly plotted like a short story, not long enough for real character development Plus, how did that one about gangsters and gun running slip into the mix.

    • Twelve books, twelve authors Some short, some not so short Book one Baby It s Cold Outside Abby L Vandiver Brigitt Van Buren is the proud owner of a new to her house that s large enough to hold events for her event planning business she started after retirement Before a body pops out when the wall in the basement gives way due to a broken pipe Bridgitt needs to get this mystery solved as she can t get her furnace fixed as the basement is now a crime scene This is a fun story with strong characte [...]

    • I love Cosy Mysteries, and holiday cozies are often very entertaining, these 12 stories keep up with that tradition and the cause they support is wonderful The whole set is extremely entertaining Some of my favorites in are A View To A Chill by Larissa Reinhart Reinhart s two sleuths,Maize Albright and Cherry Tucker sort of work together on a case of a missing girl for a worried grandmother Maize s search sends her to Halo,Georgia, Cherry s hometown Down with the flu,Cherry is in bed ,and either [...]

    • Christmas Chocolate and Crimes by Author Cindy Bell Is about Charlotte, a chocolate shop owner that lives in a retirement community She joins a craft class to make gifts and not clutter Returning home she hears an argument between Martin her neighbor and Victoria She has to pass them to get to her apartment She didn t want to get involved The argument was about playing Christmas music all day long Her granddaughter Ally now manages the chocolate shop but Charlotte seems to check in often Martin [...]

    • I only read one of these stories, which is the reason I bought the anthology in the first place, and that was Devil in a Black Suit by Colleen Helme I love her Shelby Nichols series, and this was a short story from that series. As all short stories too short, and for a change was mostly about Ramos, who works for mob boss Joey Manetto as his right hand man hit man There was plenty going on to keep me entertained, as usual, with the FBI and the bad guys getting mixed up together in this story, ple [...]

    • Christmas Chocolates and Crimes by Cindy BellCharlotte and Abby own chocolate shop and they are super busy since it is only few days before Christmas All is perfect until one of Charlotte s neighbours get killed right after he had a misunderstanding with her Why would anyone kill an old guy even though he constantly played christmas music and was a bit of a grouch Since Charlotte found the body she is a perfect suspect, at least according to the sheriff so it s up to her and Abby to find out wha [...]

    • Christmas came with a slew of mystery novels in an anthology called The 12 Slays of Christmas A huge reading undertaking for the holiday season and whose proceeds will go to benefit a good cause too.The tales themselves are a mixed bunch of takes on Christmas themes, all involving some dastardly deed or other Of the twelve different authors contributing the stories, two stood out for me Amy Vansant s Stollen Time provided a tidily written tale replete with red herrings galore and a cast of memor [...]

    • Entertaining collection, but flawedAs a whole, this collection of Christmas related stories is entertaining Unfortunately the first two stories contain the collection s worst examples of grammatical and typographical errors In Judith Lucci s contribution I despaired of finding a paragraph that maintained the same verb tense throughout the paragraph In Murder at the Holiday Bazaar the author continuously used congregates when she obviously meant congregants And there are a significant number of t [...]

    • When I pay 99 cents for a fun collection of cozy mysteries I do not expect great literature, but when I abort on the first book because of the poor mechanics of the writing on page 2, do the same on page 1 of the next book, and then actually last all the way through Chapter 1 of the third HOPING that the writing quality will improve, perhaps I can be forgiven for deciding that the rest of the stories are probably no better and not worth my time All three stories looked promising in terms of plot [...]

    • Considering the cause behind this, I appreciate the efforts of these authors to produce a box set of cozies with the best titles ever I have to hand it to them the puns are brilliant I ve only read a few so far and will update my rating if I feel it appropriate as I progress through the stories Book 1 Baby, it s cold outside was a good mystery, although not always easy to read because of jumbled sentences, missing or extra words, and typos galore As the first book in the series, it didn t encour [...]

    • A View to a Chill by Larissa Reinhart was amazing I loved the bringing together of Cherry and Maizie in this book Add a couple of Cherry s relatives, a supposed murder by reindeer and a bank robbery It was completely hilarious A funny short adventure The second I have read is from another of my favorites, Kim Hunt Harris, Frankincense, Gold and Murder Another great short story by a wonderful author I love the adventures of Salem and Viv A Christmas celebration gone wrong, murder, Posada and a wa [...]

    • So I finally finished it I ve been reading this book since last year, damn it, and I FINALLY MADE IT.It was mediocre There were good stories, there were terrible ones, and there were okay ones The stories that were really action packed and constantly moving were by far my favourites, so kudos to them, but the others were just meh. Also less animal neglect would ve been nice There were stories that made me genuinely mad, with animals being left without their owner paying any attention to them Plea [...]

    • I just read, A View to a Chill by Larissa Reinhart It was in the ebook, The 12 Slays of Christmas I immediately went to that book because my two favorite sleuths actually meet Yes, Cherry and Maizie meet under bazaar circumstances There was a bank robbery and Luke Cherry s beau was taken as hostage Cherry had the flu and noticed strange things at her neighbor s house In the meantime, Maizie, was hot on the trail of a missing granddaughter Casey very pregnant and Pearl get involved in the drama a [...]

    • A Fun Ride From a body popping out of a wall to a pastor suddenly dying from a poisoned bizarre seller to an iffy chocolatier from a Shakespeare actress brother killed to a missing girl case from a homeless vet working as a Santa in a mall to an ongoing feud gone bad from an innocent Christmas visit with dire consequences to a stolen necklace and murder, these delightful cozies make for great reading If I had to pick a favorite, though, I would say it would be Judith Lucci s, The Most Wonderful [...]

    • I love reading anthologies because they often introduce me to new to me authors The 12 Slays of Christmas is a fun read that contains twelve new not previously published Christmas themed stories from some very talented authors Murder, mayhem, mischief, and a touch of the paranormal are included in this collection A couple of the stories aren t what I expect in a cozy mystery, but overall I enjoyed reading all twelve of these Christmas themed stories Recipes are also provided by the authors.

    • This is a great way to get a taste of the Christmas spirit and discover new authors A wonderful collection of short stories that are sure to make you laugh, cry, and do some amateur sleuthing Don t miss out on Kim Hunt Harris s Frankincense, Gold, and Murder It s another great addition to the Trailer Park Princess series Also, check out The Case of the Curious Biscuit by Nell Goddin and Murder at the Holiday Bazaar by Kathryn Dionne So grab your cup of cocoa and settle in for some wonderful stor [...]

    • Murder at the Holiday Bazaar by Kathryn DionneThis is a great southern style Christmas mystery Chef Stevie and her sous chef Milo are in the little hometown in Mississippi baking at the holiday bazaar when local priest and family friend dies At first thought to be natural death but it turns out not to be so With the help from her father, local sheriff Stevie and Milo set out to discover who the real killer is and to save Milo from false accusation Filled with southern charm and quirky characters [...]

    • This is a great boxed set with some amazing authors There are twelve books in this set and each of the books are written with a Christmas Theme and includes recipes Each book was great and had a wonderful story which kept me reading way past my bedtime They all have well developed characters are all very entertaining Each of the books were full of surprises and I didn t want them to end If you are looking for a great boxed set then you need to get this one I am looking forward to reading the oth [...]

    • I really enjoyed this anthology with Holiday settings My favorites were Larissa Reinhart s A View To A Chill Maize Albright and Cherry Tucker, Reinhart s sleuths from two of her series works together on this one Well written and kept me interested from the beginning I also enjoyed Summer Prescott s story, Home For the Holidays Sweet and heartwarming Really all of the stories are engaging and it is a great holiday read I voluntarily reviewed a copy I received fro one of the authors.

    • This is an interesting collection of holiday mystery short stories In my opinion, not every single one I would call a cozy I think, though, that cozy is a term that has some elements everyone recognizes in them but other elements are kind of murky and depend upon the reader Most were what I would call cozy There was a lot of humor in them Only one story fell short with me as it was a bit confusing to me I think it needed a second set of eyes reading it Otherwise I enjoyed them.
